I have 3 children of my own… they are my "WHY". I was a teacher for over 32 years and always had a dream to own my own preschool. I am surrounded by the light that children bring to the world. Elena Hondo has dedicated her life to children's education since 2000, specializing as a language and social studies teacher. As a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in Swedish and English, she brings a rich, multicultural approach to the classroom. Her international career spans preschool, elementary, and high school levels across Sweden, Philadelphia, and the Lower Merion School District. Driven by her two daughters, she creates a nurturing educational legacy fueled by the pure light and love that young children bring to her world.

I have always had a passion for working with children and I believe that early childhood is a crucial stage of their development. The opportunity to be a part of their growth, activities and lessons is incredibly rewarding. The children also help me to increase my imagination and creativity. I have worked at other centers, but Our Honey Bee Academy is the best. It is a safe, loving and nurturing environment.

Being a mother that has raised 5 children of my own, this opportunity has given me the chance to do all the things I've loved with my own. I get to laugh with them, nurture them and be a part of the growing process all over again and that gives me joy. My favorite time of the day is singing during circle time. I love seeing the children learn new things. It makes me just as happy as they are!

I have spent my entire career as a pre-school assistant. I am dedicated to the well-being and enrichment of young people. I have an Associates Degree in Arts from Harlem College.
